My story was published in today's St. Paul Pioneer Press in the Bulletin Board.
'WARNING! "Cute " ahead, filed by Grandma Jody: My dad refuses to believe he is getting older, and continues to do all the things he did as a younger man. These things include including taking care of his 5 acre landscaped yard and playing racquetball 6 days a week. (I won't tell you how old he is, but he has 5 great-grandchildren.)
Recently he fell 20 feet off a ladder while trimming a tree branch with a chainsaw. He landed on his back and broke his ribs. While that is very painful and bad enough, it could've been so much worse! My sister told him that he has angels in heaven watching over him, including his mother, our mom, and his good friend Tom, who he always played cards with on Wednesdays. My dad replied, " Actually, I think two out of the three of them PUSHED me!"
Love you Dad. Hope you get back to racquetball soon.'
