Arctic + Boredom = Cookies

I have spent February with the shorties. When stuck in the house while it was too cold to want to go out, and too lazy apathetic to do anything productive, it was a no-brainer to invite the kids over to bake cookies. And bake we did. It's as easy as ABC! We made snickerdoodles, sugar cookies, oatmeal chocolate chip, and peanut butter in the last month. The problem with baking them is eating them. Or rather, not eating them. Please please please let Spring be just around the corner.

Forever Saint Paul

We went on a fun little jaunt with two of our favorite fun little people today. We haven't seen the Union Depot since the gazillion dollar makeover, and a chance to see a world record-breaking installation of LiteBrite art was too much to pass up. The building itself was beautiful and it will be fun when the lightrail and Amtrak trains start using it later this year. For now,the 8' x 24' lighted mural will have to do. There was supposed to be recognizable St. Paul landmarks and icons (like Sparky the Seal) inlaid in the design, but I guess they were running out of time and the public was allowed to help finish it. I talked to a volunteer who said they didn't have enough supervision and some people strayed outside the lines. Ha! And we found a stray litebrite on the floor too, so that explains it. We finished the afternoon with a trip to Truberry Yogurt for a little snack.

Happy Heart Day

These are the things that made my day: Animal-shaped Valentine Balloons, Red Velvet cupcakes baked in a jar, red doily hearts, a lovely game of UNO, heart-shaped pizzas, a ride in a bright red Fire Engine, cutie pies with balloons, pink Sweetheart roses from my Sweetheart, a dapper mustachioed date, and the world's best-dressed cat!
