We have been busy emptying my mom's house and getting it ready for sale. We had only gotten together a couple times until a broken water pipe flooded and forced us into action. We had to clean out the basement and the main floor rooms for the insurance to repair the damage. We started on the upstairs (AKA No Man's Land or Out of Sight, Out of Mind) this week. She lived in the house for 47 years and was a shopaholic. There are only 5 of us and 24 hours in a day. You do the math! Here's a list of some of the more interesting finds so far from upstairs:
- Enough Easter eggs to stock a medium size grocery store if they were hen's eggs.
- Four sets of 8 stainless steel ice cream sundae dishes still in the boxes.
-Two, count 'em , two stained glass chicken shaped lamps, in boxes.
-Lamps. lamps and more lamps. Oh, and lampshades.
-Dozens of fabric shopping totes. And more purses. With tags.
-"Happy 30th Birthday" products. Probably from hers...
-And at the bottom of a pottery jar, we found 3 lone dimes. One each for Dale, Jill and me that were working there tonight. Read Jill's blog for an explanation of the Dimes from Heaven. http://minnesotabeans.blogspot.com/
